Eight Golden Rules For Trouble-Free Operation of Magnetic Pumps
If you want a safe, stable, and trouble-free operation of the magnetic drive pump, you must abide by the following eight golden rules, because most Magnetic Drive Pump Suppliers will not tell you these in detail.
1. No idling running
Because once the magnetic pump runs short of liquid, the sliding bearing of the pump cavity will lose lubrication and wear quickly under high-speed operation. The heat generated by the magnetic eddy current cutting magnetic field of the inner magnetic rotor is sufficient to demagnetize the magnet. Although some magnetic pump manufacturers claim that their magnetic pumps can withstand idling, there is a prerequisite. This is the idling time, which can only be idling for 3-5 minutes.
2. Prohibit long-time closed valve operation
When the flow rate is close to 0, the power required by the impeller is not 0, and the power obtained on the impeller will be converted into heat and vaporization will occur. As the bearing heats up and wears, the friction between the rotor and the isolating sleeve produces high-temperature demagnetization.

3. Avoid cavitation
Any change of pipeline, change of conveying medium liquid level, and non-constant temperature of medium will change the effective cavitation margin of the pump, which is easy to produce cavitation. In a short period of time, cavitation will cause the magnetic pump to be scrapped.
4. Prohibit long-term operation under extreme flow conditions
The operation of the Magnetic Pump at the flow rate stipulated by the principle will cause excessive bearing load.
5. It is strictly forbidden to exceed the rated temperature difference
The magnetic pump should monitor temperature changes regularly during use, and the rated temperature should not be exceeded.
6. Avoid thermal shock
Generally, the heating or cooling rate of the pump cannot be greater than 10 degrees Celsius/minute.
7. Start the magnetic pump after filling
Before the magnetic pump is turned on and used, the pump cavity needs to be filled with liquid to achieve the effect of exhausting air.
8. Do not reverse
The direction of the magnetic pump should be consistent with the nameplate of the pump body. Reversing is likely to burn the motor.
If you strictly follow these eight suggestions, more than 95% of Magnetic Drive Pumps can be prevented from abnormal damage.
